Unique description for The Creature from the Pit
  • 4 June 1979: The Tom Baker stories begin airing, complete serials every weeknight.
  • 30 July 1979: The series movies to a half hour time slot.
  • 1 June 1981: The series returns after a year-long break, now daily at 10:00pm.
  • 6 August 1982: After ten months off the air, the Tom Baker stories begin again. Entire stories are aired each Friday night at 10:30.
  • 11 November 1983: Wednesday night airings are added. After seven weeks the Friday airings are stopped.
  • 23 November 1983: The Five Doctors airs.
  • 21 June 1985: Some of the Jon Pertwee episodes air.
  • 22 November 1985: Tom Baker returns.
  • 6 September 1986: The William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton stories premiere.
  • 13 February 1987: All Jon Pertwee stories air.
  • 18 March 1988: Destiny of the Daleks and its pledge break are shown live in the video room at Time-Loop '88.
  • 25 May 1990: The station considered Doctor Who to be too costly; presumably it was dropped as a result.
