It was during screenings of the Jon Pertwee stories in 1977/78 that off-air recordings were made by Tom Lundie, which were later instrumental in the reconstruction from black and white back into colour.
- 1982: Starting with the Peter Davison stories, the series moved to Saturdays.
- 1990: In the 1990s, Doctor Who aired in omnibus movie form, Saturdays at 4.00pm. The 17 repackaged William Hartnell stories were played for the second time during this run.
